Ikigai 生き甲斐 : the rules of happiness, Japanese style
The pursuit of happiness can take us down my paths. In Japan people follow traditional concepts that have been trusted for centuries. Ikigai is a Japanese concept that roughly translates as ‘a positive reason for being’. It can help you live a personally fulfilling and happy life by finding the thread that ties together what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs and what you can be rewarded or paid for. Define your ikigai and find renewed purpose and happiness in your daily life.
Define the benefits of ikigai 生き甲斐 and kaizen 改善
The definition of ikigai encourages you to find meaning in all aspects of life. It values what you can offer as well as what you need. Knowing your ikigai can help you reflect your true self. For example, by wearing clothes that align with your values and personality you can feel more confident and authentic. Working alongside the idea of ikigai is the concept of kaizen. We define kaizen as continuous improvement, encouraging you to make small, incremental changes to your life every day. Examples could be things only you will notice, such as learning a new skill or decluttering your underwear drawer!
